Andres Townsend’s journey in veterinary medicine began in Peru, where he earned a Bachelor of Veterinary Science. He then pursued further excellence, graduating with honors from the University of Queensland in Australia in 2011. By 2021, he achieved a prestigious Membership in Small Animal Surgery, a significant milestone recognizing his advanced knowledge, skills, and experience in veterinary surgery.

Dr. Andres thrives in the surgical environment, considering it his ‘happy place.’ He specializes in orthopedic surgery, with a particular focus on:

• Canine Cruciate Ligament Repairs: Utilizing the TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) technique for superior outcomes.
• Fracture Repairs: Providing expert care for dogs with broken bones.

Dr. Andres also possesses expertise in:

• BOAS (Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome) Surgeries: Alleviating breathing difficulties in brachycephalic breeds.
• Laparoscopic Speys: Employing minimally invasive techniques for optimal patient recovery.

After years of dedicated practice in Melbourne, Dr. Andres returned to the Gold Coast and joined the esteemed team at The Vet Lounge.”
