Located right next door to The Vet Lounge Coomera, our newly established rehabilitation facility is dedicated to optimising the health and well-being of your four-legged friends. Led by our experienced Rehab Practitioner, Janet Roa, the Canine Rehab Centre offers tailored treatment plans utilising cutting-edge techniques and equipment such as the underwater treadmill, class IV laser therapy, manual therapy, and customised home exercise programs.
Whether your dog is recovering from surgery, managing chronic pain from conditions like arthritis, or simply seeking to enhance their mobility and quality of life, the Canine Rehab Centre is here to support your canine friend every step of the way on their journey to optimal health and happiness.
Rehabilitation Services
Manual Therapy
A hands-on assessment and treatment of the spine, joints, and muscles using specialised techniques tailored to improve mobility and alleviate discomfort.
Laser Therapy
A non-invasive treatment emitting specific light wavelengths to enhance healing processes, relieving pain and treating various conditions effectively
Ultrasound Therapy
Ultrasound therapy boosts blood flow and enzyme activity with sound waves, offering a painless massage to increase circulation in soft tissues.
Underwater Treadmill
Our state-of-the-art treadmill adjusts water levels for optimal support or resistance, aiding in functional mobility assessment and strength gain, with incline options for added challenge.
Janet Roa

Certified Canine Rehab Practitioner
Janet was raised in the Northeast of the U.S. She received her Bachelor in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University in 1990. She then went on to specialise in neuro-rehabilitation working with stroke, spinal cord injury and brain injury patients. She eventually gained her Board Certification in Neuro-Rehabilitation from the American Occupational Therapy Association.
As the senior OT for the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore Maryland she was able to gain extensive experience in complex orthopaedic injuries. She became aware of Canine Rehabilitation in 2015 and began her studies with The University of Tennessee. She completed her Canine Rehabilitation residency at Chesapeake Veterinary Surgery Specialists in Annapolis Maryland and received her CCRP in 2016. She helped develop the Canine Rehabilitation program for CVSS at another location and worked there until 2020.
Janet, her husband Daren, and their 3 boys decided to embark on the adventure of a lifetime and relocate to Australia in 2020. She is thrilled to be here on the Gold Coast helping to open and run the first comprehensive Canine Rehabilitation Centre in the area. When not at work she enjoys hiking, paddleboarding and anything that keeps her active and exploring her beautiful new country.

The Canine Rehab Centre provide comprehensive rehabilitation services to address a wide range of conditions affecting dogs. From post-operative orthopedic rehabilitation to the management of chronic conditions such as arthritis, hip and elbow dysplasia, and muscle strains, our dedicated team is equipped to tailor treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient. We also focus on improving gait and posture issues, addressing aging-related concerns, and promoting wound healing through specialised therapies and techniques.
