Welcome to the Canine Rehab Centre (CRC)
Located inside The Vet Lounge Coomera, our rehabilitation facility is here to support your dog’s health and well-being. Led by Janet Roa, one of the few Certified Canine Rehab Practitioners in South East Queensland, the CRC provides personalised care using advanced treatments like the underwater treadmill, Class IV laser therapy, manual therapy, and customised home exercise programs.
Whether your dog is recovering from surgery, managing spinal issues or arthritis, or simply needs help improving mobility and comfort, Janet will work with you to create a plan that meets their unique needs. We’re here to help your canine companion feel their best, every step of the way.

Janet Roa – ORT, BCN, BNC
Certified Canine Rehab Practitioner
Janet was raised in the Northeast of the U.S. She received her Bachelor in Occupational Therapy from Quinnipiac University in 1990. She then went on to specialise in neuro-rehabilitation working with stroke, spinal cord injury and brain injury patients. She eventually gained her Board Certification in Neuro-Rehabilitation from the American Occupational Therapy Association.
As the senior OT for the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore Maryland she was able to gain extensive experience in complex orthopaedic injuries. She became aware of Canine Rehabilitation in 2015 and began her studies with The University of Tennessee. She completed her Canine Rehabilitation residency at Chesapeake Veterinary Surgery Specialists in Annapolis Maryland and received her CCRP in 2016. She helped develop the Canine Rehabilitation program for CVSS at another location and worked there until 2020.
Janet, her husband Daren, and their 3 boys decided to embark on the adventure of a lifetime and relocate to Australia in 2020. She is thrilled to be here on the Gold Coast helping to open and run the first comprehensive Canine Rehabilitation Centre in the area. When not at work she enjoys hiking, paddleboarding and anything that keeps her active and exploring her beautiful new country.
