Allergic Skin Disease

Your pet’s skin consultation

Your pet’s skin consultation began with the veterinarian asking specific questions related to your pet’s condition, as well as general questions regarding overall health.

Secondly, a four point examination was performed, which included:

  1. Dermatological exam (skin check) – eyes and ears, feet, body (top), body (tummy), and botom
  2. Microscopic testing – collection of samples from the skin and/or ear canals to check for bacteria, yeast, and mites
  3. Otoscope exam of ears (if ear disease is present) – the eardrum was examined and inspected for any foreign material
  4. Physical exam – overall general health check

From there, the results of the above were discussed, and a treatment plan was made.

Below you will find additional information on skin disease.
