Advanced Veterinary Diagnostics & Ultrasound for Dogs and Cats

Offering advanced diagnostics such as ultrasound and endoscopy, allows our veterinary team to investigate illness more thoroughly and develop accurate treatment plans. Minimally invasive procedures like endoscopy can often prevent the need for exploratory surgery, helping pets recover faster and return home sooner. Our goal is to provide modern veterinary care using advanced diagnostic technology, ensuring pets receive the best possible treatment while minimising stress and discomfort. Our Coomera practicve offers advanced diagnostic imaging and veterinary ultrasound for dogs and cats, allowing our experienced veterinarians to investigate illness quickly, accurately, and with minimal stress for your pet.

Modern veterinary ultrasound technology allows us to evaluate internal organs, detect disease early, guide procedures, and develop the most effective treatment plan for each patient. Having advanced veterinary diagnostics available in-house means your pet can receive fast answers and immediate care without needing referral to another clinic. Our team includes veterinarians trained in performing both routine and advanced ultrasound examinations, helping us diagnose complex medical conditions with greater precision.

Comprehensive Veterinary Ultrasound Services

We provide a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound services for dogs and cats, including both routine and advanced procedures.

Advanced Veterinary Ultrasound

Our veterinarians perform advanced ultrasound examinations including:

  • AFAST Ultrasound (Abdominal Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma) to rapidly identify internal bleeding or free fluid
  • Full abdominal ultrasound examinations assessing the liver, spleen, kidneys, bladder, pancreas, gastrointestinal tract and adrenal glands
  • Detailed adrenal gland ultrasound to investigate endocrine disease
  • Ultrasound-guided thoracocentesis to safely remove fluid from the chest cavity
  • Ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirates (FNA) of organs including the liver and spleen for diagnostic sampling
  • These procedures allow us to collect valuable diagnostic information while minimising discomfort and risk for your pet.

Routine Veterinary Ultrasound

We also offer single-organ ultrasound examinations when a targeted assessment is required, helping diagnose conditions affecting specific organs.

Why Advanced Veterinary Diagnostics Are Important
Advanced diagnostic tools such as veterinary ultrasound, allow our veterinarians to identify many conditions earlier and with greater accuracy. Ultrasound imaging can help diagnose:

  • Internal bleeding
  • Abdominal disease
  • Tumours and masses
  • Organ enlargement or inflammation
  • Fluid accumulation in the chest or abdomen
  • Endocrine disorders affecting the adrenal glands
  • Because ultrasound is non-invasive and highly detailed, it provides valuable information while keeping your pet comfortable and safe.

Veterinary Endoscopy for Dogs and Cats

Our veterinary hospital offers advanced endoscopy procedures for dogs and cats, allowing our veterinarians to diagnose and treat many conditions using minimally invasive techniques. Veterinary endoscopy uses a small camera attached to a flexible tube to examine internal structures such as the gastrointestinal tract and airways. This technology allows our team to investigate medical problems, retrieve foreign objects, and obtain diagnostic samples without the need for traditional invasive surgery.

By offering advanced veterinary endoscopy in-house, we are able to provide faster diagnosis, less discomfort for pets, and quicker recovery times compared with many surgical procedures.

Benefits of Veterinary Endoscopy

Endoscopy is an important tool in modern veterinary diagnostics and treatment because it allows veterinarians to visualise internal organs in real time, while avoiding large surgical incisions.

Benefits of endoscopy include:

  • Minimally invasive procedure with no large surgical incision
  • Faster recovery times for pets
  • Reduced pain and post-operative complications
  • Shorter anaesthetic and hospitalisation times
  • Ability to diagnose and treat conditions without surgery

In many cases, endoscopy can be used to remove swallowed foreign objects, examine the stomach or intestines, or obtain tissue samples for diagnostic testing.

Advanced Endoscopy Procedures

Our experienced veterinary team performs a range of endoscopic procedures for dogs and cats, including:

  • Gastrointestinal endoscopy to examine the oesophagus, stomach and upper intestines
  • Foreign body retrieval to remove objects swallowed by pets without surgery
  • Biopsy collection for diagnosing gastrointestinal disease
  • Airway endoscopy to evaluate respiratory conditions

These advanced procedures allow us to investigate complex medical conditions while keeping pets as comfortable and safe as possible.
